Permissions error in appdata¶

This article describes what to do if you see the following errors:

• OCP\\\\Files\\\\NotPermittedException in the nextcloud.log.
• Error: Could not download app bruteforcesettings during application install from the CLI.

These errors occur because Nextcloud can't read or write in data/appdata_xxxxxxxx.
