User id change¶

Root cause analysis¶

When using external sources of users like LDAP, it can happen that a username change leads to a userId change of the userId is derived from the username. This can occurres when a user gets married, or if you change the way the userId are derived.

This is not supported by Nextcloud as the userId is used as a unique and immutable reference to a user in multiple places.

This can lead to errors like User not provisioned at login time.
