Managing users lifecycle in Nextcloud
It is pretty easy to create accounts in Nextcloud, so users can start to use the platform, create and share content, data, information.
But when a user is leaving the organization, things can get tricky, especially if this user has many shares hanging around.
This article aims to provide a few guidelines, good practices to manage your users lifecycle in Nextcloud, and their data, and solve situations like:
- mainy active Nextcloud users are in reality inactive from an AD/LDAP perspective (remnants). Those users cannot access Nextcloud anymore.
- users are gone but still own important shares/data actively accessed by other users
