Handling Custom SSL Certificates with Collabora and Nextcloud
Nextcloud always recommends an SSL certificate from a valid certificate authority (CA) and a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). For organizations running Nextcloud and Nextcloud Office (from Collabora) in a local area network (LAN) specific environment, otherwise restricted Internet, or fully air-gapped where the FQDN + valid SSL certificates are more complicated to manage, self-signed or certificates may be considered, with some considerations/restrictions.
