What are managed settings
Managed settings allow administrators to pre configure or enforce desktop client settings across all their users' machines in a centralized way, instead of relying on each person to set things up correctly.
Settings are delivered either through your Nextcloud server (Enterprise) or through device management - Windows registry/GPO, macOS configuration profiles, Linux config files - and when more than one source sets the same value a fixed precedence decides which wins.
Device management will work nonetheless but the server will not expose the settings to the client and they will have no effect without a subscription.
